Dear Sponsors,
“… “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” John 7:37-38
To Jesus be the glory for all that He has done in the lives of our children and at the orphan center!
Thank you for your sponsorship and for your invaluable prayers, that is making a difference in their life.
It is good to be here with the children. The more time I spend with them, my love for them deepens. They are truly precious and I thank God for each one!
We had a lot of fun recently when I asked our children to find specific countries on globes of the world. I used the globes to illustrate the way I traveled from New Zealand and then arranged for our children to read Bible verses about Jesus being the way, the truth and the life and the guidance He provides us when we seek Him.
When I was here in May both our children and I took many photos and they requested if they could have copies of the photos. I promised to bring the photos when I returned in September.
Recently I gave the photos to our children and organized for them to place them on one of the walls of the dining room at the center. The photos provided much joy and pride as they viewed themselves in the photos.
I met a couple from Sweden, Tobias and Josefine, who are planning to undertake a water project in the Mbeya region in January next year. They had brought with them two water filters and praise God, felt prompted to give one of the filters to our orphan center.
Even though we had installed water at the center in May, the water is not safe to drink but needs to be boiled. The water filter will have a positive impact on the health of the children. My intention is the children will drink more water while at the center and also take filtered water home with them. For a
number of the children, they do not have access to safe drinking water in their homes.
Before Tobias illustrated how the water filter worked, I arranged for the children to read several Bible verses about water. The children love reading the Word and enthusiastically put up their hand to read the verses as I called out which ones needed to be read.
Your prayers are making a difference and are having an impact on the children spiritually! Please continue to pray for your child and that God’s will be carried out in her life.
With sincerest thanks and much love in Him,
Darlene and Henry Matarrita
