Although the Secondary English tuition class finished at end of July, the six students were encouraged to continue practicing both speaking and reading English. Last Sunday, each of them read a story and explained the meaning in Kiswahili to the rest of the children in the Center. We chose two Tanzanian fables, “The Man who never lied” and “Why the Bat flies by Night” for them to read. Kelvin, Daima and Sarafina did quite well while there is still room for improvement for Sikujua, Aneth and Elina. Little Neema, a nursery English student surprised us all by singing the ABC song with confidence. Then the rest of the children and Sekela prayed for all seven of them.
