Dear sponsors,
Blessings in Jesus!
We thank God for your support through sponsorship and prayers! Thank you for the important part you play in our children’s’ lives and the impact your support is having on them! We continue to pray for you on a regular basis.
Kelvin will be undertaking form four national exams in November this year and to ensure he is given the best opportunity to do well in his studies and his exams, he moved to Ulambya Secondary School’s dormitory at the end of June. Kelvin normally lives with his aunt, who regularly works on a farm and is not at home to undertake the cooking and other
responsibilities, as a result Kelvin would normally fend for himself.
Christopher is in the process of completing his Diploma in General Agriculture and is currently undertaking field practice. He is expected to complete his diploma in September and hopes to utilise his diploma in the Mbeya region.
Vaileth completed form six in May and we recently received her exam results. We are proud of this young woman, who was one of six female students who obtained division one! Vaileth is currently undertaking compulsory military service and after she finishes at the end of August, intends to undertake a teaching degree at a Tanzanian university. We are hoping to seek additional sponsorship that will enable Vaileth to pursue her teaching degree.
Isaya had a growth on his head since October 2014 and after his sixth birthday; surgeons were able to operate on him at the end of last month. We thank God for this precious boy and the positive impact the surgery is having on
his demeanour.
Sarafina is progressing well with her studies and during her school vacation; she agreed to assist in teaching another one of our students at the center, who is finding her studies difficult. I thank God for Sarafina, who is developing in confidence and offered to translate English to Kiswahili for one of our current visitors.
This month we celebrated Daima and Rubeni’s 18th birthdays! Daima is in form four at Ulambya Secondary School and will be undertaking national exams in November. Rubeni is undertaking a three year mechanic’s course.
We love having visitors at the center!!!
My Pastor and one of the elders of my church here in Mbeya, came to visit Sekela to pray with her and also ministered to our children through Bible teaching and praying for them.
One of the things that I love about our visitors, is each one brings their God given gift and it for His glory and honour!
We were extremely blessed by a team from the USA, who used their gift of teaching to illustrate God’s love to our precious children and to have fun with them!
A highlight of their visit was the opportunity for each team member to partner with one of our children and they
each prayed for their respective partner!
I am thankful for my friend Rina from the Netherlands who is currently here for a three week visit. She is a paediatric nurse and is a health educator. Rina has been teaching Sekela and our children how to brush their teeth correctly and a few first aid techniques. She has also been assisting a few children read English and she too has been praying for the children on an individual basis.
Please prayerfully consider coming to Tanzania and visiting us! Come and meet the child or children you are sponsoring, your life will be impacted!
It continues to be a privilege to be a part of these precious children’s lives and to sow into them God’s Word and to raise them up, to be godly young men and women.
With sincerest thanks and much love in Him,
Darlene and Henry Matarrita
