Blessings in Jesus!
We thank God for your support through sponsorship and prayers! Thank you for the important role you have in our children’s lives and the impact your support is having on them! We continue to pray for you on a regular basis.
Sekela, our children and I were blessed with a visit from Henry and Darlene and the team they brought to minister to us, pastors, church leaders, and churches and to preach the Gospel to ourneighbors and to a village in Kyela. We are always thankful for teams who come to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to use their God given gifts for His glory and honor.
We love having visitors at the center! The children in particular love having the opportunity to practise English with visitors, either greeting them in English or having a go at translating our visitors! I am very proud of our children, nearly all of them except our younger ones who are at nursery, introduced themselves in English to Henry, Darlene and the team. Aside from practising their English, our children love to minister through song and dance, sharing Bible verses and through corporate and individual prayer.
A major highlight was the opportunity to go out and share the Gospel with our neighbors! We have been praying for this for nearly a year. Initially for three months we walked around the neighbourhood praying for our neighbors and since January this year we have been praying three times a week for our neighbors and also the relatives of our children to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We partnered with four churches and recently undertook door to door evangelism around the homes of the orphan center. On the second day we visited a few of the relatives of our children who were not born again. Praise God 87 people accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior! Pastors and church members involved in the evangelism are following up with these new believers in Jesus. Please pray for these new believers that they will grow in their knowledge of Jesus and in their new found relationship with Him.
Sekela and our children were extremely blessed by a generos gift of beautiful teddy bears, gifted by Phillip’s Love Bears (www.phillipslovebears.com) and brought by Henry and Darlene. I was extremely touched by one of the tags on the teddy bears that reads “Mungu ni Upendo”, translated in English it means God is Love! Our God is love indeed and He has placed a love within the ministry of Phillip’s Love Bears.
Please prayerfully consider coming to Tanzania and visiting us! Come and meet the child or children you are sponsoring, your life will be impacted!
I am continually reminded of the privilege to be a part of these precious children’s lives and to sow into them God’s Word and to raise them up, to be godly young men and women.
With sincerest thanks and much love in Him,
Darlene and Henry Matarrita
