Dear Sponsors,
Blessings in Jesus!
We thank God for all our sponsors’ support through finance and prayers! Thank you for the important role you have in Sekela and our children’s lives and the impact your support is having on them and on the center! We continue to pray for you on a regular basis.
We love having visitors!
Last month we welcomed Erin and Val.
Erin first came to the center in March last year andreturned to visit another project and us too. Albeit a quick visit, Sekela, ourchildren and I were thankful for Erin and Val coming to see us!
Sarafina is in form four (fourth year of secondary school) and last month a graduation occurred for all form four students.
We are very proud of this young woman, who received three certificates during the graduation ceremony. One certificate she received is for being in form four, another certificate she received was due to her attaining an A in Kiswahili and the
third certificate was for being disciplined in her studies. Sarafina is currently sitting national exams and is due to finish next
Thursday 9 November 2017. Please pray for Sarafina’s exams and that she would do well. Sarafina’s career aspiration is to
be a doctor.
Elina left the center recently with a sewing machine and other supplies needed to
assist her start her life as a seamstress. We have an agreement with Elina, which in
due course she will need to repay the cost of the sewing machine. We want our
children to learn that they need to work for a living and to trust and depend on God
for their needs. Elina is absolutely delighted to start her life as a seamstress! Please
pray for this young woman as she starts her business.
It’s been an absolute joy to have Vaileth with us these last couple of months. She has truly been a blessing in numerous ways; whether it’s been teaching our children in different ways; helping our cook with cooking or undertaking other necessary tasks at the center. We thank God for Vaileth and the role model she is to all other children, not only academically but also spiritually. Vaileth, is a young woman who has a deep relationship with Jesus, whom she is dependent on for all her needs. Please pray for Vaileth, who has now returned to Mkwawa University College of Education to undertake her second year of a Bachelor
of Education.
Since we have two new children to the center
(Athumani and Ericki), it’s a good opportunity
to return to basic Bible teaching for all our
children. They were reminded of what is prayer, how we should approach God, what happens when we pray, how should we pray and when should we pray. During the teaching they wrote their answers on the blackboard and at the conclusion of the teaching, they put into practice what they had learned.
Absolutely amazed at the work of the Holy Spirit and the conviction He brought to the hearts of our children, after we read the parable of the unmerciful servant in the book of Matthew 18 verses 21 – 35! Before and after we read the parable, we each prayed that the Holy Spirit would teach us what we needed to learn from the parable. After reading the parable and praying, our children were given the opportunity to ask for forgiveness from other children at the center. Five children advised me of the children whom they needed to ask forgiveness from and I invited each child into my office and a process
of forgiveness and reconciliation took place. It was truly humbling and nearly brought me to tears, to see the Holy Spirit working in the hearts of our children.
Our center is partnering with a local church to undertake house to house evangelism in the area near the center. Last weekend we were due to undertake house to house evangelism, however, due to a change in plans it has been rescheduled to this Saturday. To my surprise and delight, four of our children arrived last weekend to participate in the
house to house evangelism! We thank God for the privilege of raising future godly leaders for Tanzania!
Thank you for your prayers, that is bearing fruit in the lives of our children and Sekela! We covet your prayers, we pray for you and we also intercede for our neighbours, the city we live in, Tanzania and the nations! We pray that all people will know the true peace that only Jesus, the prince of peace, can give. We pray for people’s salvation and for the leadership of
the countries we are praying for.
Thank you so much for your support through prayers and sponsorship! Please do not under-estimate the impact your support is having in the lives of Sekela, our children, their families, our neighbourhood and the wider Tanzania community!
We thank God for you and would love to meet you! Please prayerfully consider coming to Tanzania and visiting us!
With sincerest thanks and blessings,
