“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy
because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now” Philippians 1:3-5
Dear Sponsors
Blessings in Jesus!
We are extremely thankful to all our sponsors, for your support through finance and prayers! Please know that we do not take for granted, the financial sacrifice many of you make to support our children, Sekela and the center. You are regular lyin our prayers and we pray and trust that God will provide for your needs. Please know that your support is having an impact on our children, their families, our neighbourhood and the wider community of Tanzania, not only for now but also for eternity!
Last month we celebrated the precious lives of four of our children – Dicksoni (15), Athumani (11),
Yusufu (8) and Hilda (12)! We were pleased to have Athumani’s aunt (at right) join us in the
celebration. As per our tradition we shared Scriptures with our children whose birthdays we were
celebrating and our children sang and danced to their CD they recorded 18 months ago.
We thank God for a sponsor who offered to
provide sponsorship for Elina who left the
center last year. The sponsor is providing
funds for Elina to undertake a further 3
months sewing course at a local business;
food for the household she lives in and
material for sewing. This sponsorship has
greatly encouraged Elina and is giving her
confidence to pursue her life as a seamstress.
We thank God for the caregivers of our children, many who are widowed and are doing their best to support the children in their care. Some of the caregivers are farmers, others selling food or items they have made, another is a seamstress and another is a carpenter. The caregivers continue to meet at the center once a month, to discuss any issues they maybe encountering with the children in their care, to receive support from other caregivers and to pray for all our children, the staff and the center.
We thank God for our staff at the center. Maara, is the manager overseeing the center; Sekela, the widow who originally established the center 12 years ago and who is the main liaison between the center and the caregivers of our children; Aneti and Nifariji our part-time cooks; Enea our social worker/nurse working 3 Saturdays per month, visiting our children at the center and once a month visiting the caregivers of our children in their homes; and Emmanuel an administration assistant working 2 days a week.
\
Our primary school aged children attend the center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for food only. The older primary aged children return to school after they have had a meal at the center and our younger children return home. On Friday afternoons our children who are able and willing attend the center in the late afternoon for prayer. On Saturdays and Sundays our children attend the center for food, prayer, Bible teaching, visiting Enea our social worker/nurse and teaching by her, other activities and birthday parties once a month for all our children whose birthday fall within the month. We have three students boarding at a secondary school, they return to the center once a month on a Saturday and
return to school on the Monday following.
We thank God for all our children, that we have the privilege of mentoring and caring for. We thank God for your partnership through prayers and sponsorship, which enable our children to have opportunities they would not otherwisehave. Sekela, our children and I would love to meet you! Please prayerfully consider coming to Tanzania and visiting us!
With sincerest gratitude and blessings
